Rooney and Punyi Productions is a REPERTOIRE theatre company that tours over 20 shows and programs throughout Alberta schools and communities.
Rooney and Punyi are a husband/wife team. professional actors who have been delighting audiences with educational theatre since 1980. They have raised a family in Alberta and have created and toured their shows that bring history to life; “Interview History” and “Hats and Gloves, Hard Work and Dreams“, as well as hilarious interactive shows that promote a love of reading; “Rooney Punyi Reading Shows“, and teach about ways to help the planet “Power Up!”. This couple use theatre to build children’s self esteem with 3 fantastic performing arts residencies where the whole school creates their own performances that is showcased in a school-wide festival. Rooney and Punyi entertain seniors with a ukulele Sing-along. The two have been commissioned to create many exciting theatre pieces from the City of Edmonton, The Grey Nuns, The FCJ Sisters, St. Albert Parish, OMI, Catholic Youth Commission, University of Edmonton, City of Edmonton, City of St. Ablert and Most NOTABLY, the royal alberta museum opening for queen elizabeth ii .
